Eleanor (Ellie) Provasoli died peacefully at her home in North Haven on November 28th at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Louise Bango, her brother Joseph Bango and her husband and the love of her life Anthony “Tony” Provasoli.
After years of being a mother and homemaker, Ellie embarked on a career as a bus monitor in the town of North Haven. As a van monitor for the ACES school system, Ellie treated her students like family and provided much needed comfort to the parents who were sending their children off to school for the first time.
When she finally retired at the age of 83, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Ellie attended church every Sunday and when that was no longer possible watching the daily mass from the comfort of her recliner. Reciting the rosary every day brought her joy and peace.
Her happiest moments were spent with her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her beloved nieces and nephews. Known as “GG” by her great grandchildren, they loved playing board games together.
Ellie leaves behind, her daughter, Pam LaMonaca (Bob), her granddaughters, Maria Puglia (Marc), Lisa Termine (Angelo), her greatgrandchildren, Luke, Natalie, and Claire Puglia. Her sister, Dolores Consorte.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Barbara, Donna, Jean, and Hattie who took such loving care of our mom. Also, we cannot forget to thank our wonderful Grove Road neighbors who were always looking out for us.
The visiting hours will be Friday morning, December 2nd at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12 noon. Interment will follow in All Saint Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 and American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.

Ellie was a wonderful woman whom I met at church. I was trying to teach my kids to behave during mass. Some of the other parishioners weren’t so understanding. Ellie welcomed us to the row in front of her every week and helped with the kids. She was such a sweet person. Rest in peace, Ellie
Was so very sorry to hear of the passing of Ellie. She was a wonderful person and was a longtime neighbor of my growing up. My condolences To Pam and her family
