Elsie M. Nana Cusano, 95, OF North Branford passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Apple Rehab, Guilford. She was beloved wife of the late John Cusano. Elsie was born in New Haven on June 12, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Sylvio and Marie Bradanini Nana. She was a member of the North Branford Senior Center. Mother of John A. Cusano, Joseph L. Cusano, Richard E. (Joanne) Cusano and Theresa M. (Ralph) Rienzo. Grandmother of Christopher, Kayla (Josh) Black and Corey Cusano, Melissa (A.J.) SantaMaria, Ralph and Matthew (fiancé Kathy Tuccio) Rienzo. Great-grandmother of Ava and Amalia SantaMaria. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Louis and Joseph Nana and sisters Frances Nana, Lena Marginelli and Jenny Fumiatti.
The visiting hours will be on Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at Saint Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 11:30. Interment will follow in the Montowese Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
I was not privileged to meet or know Mrs. Cusano personally, but I have gotten to know her values & heart & integrity through what she passed on to my friend, her son John. May she Rest In Peace, & may the family take comfort in her long life, well lived.

Elsie was a sweet lady who really loved her family. We both met her and remember her smile and laughter when we were together. It’s hard to lose ones mother and we are very sorry you have lost yours. Our thoughts are of all of you during this sad time.
