Elvira C. Piombino, 84, of 165 Clintonville Road, North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale New Haven with her loving family by her side. Elvira was born in East Haven on August 24, 1932; daughter of the late Peter and Lillian Rotondo Piombino; had worked for Star Distributors and later as a Home Health Aide for VNA Services. She enjoyed going to the Ridge Road Senior Center, playing bingo, was a member of the former St. Donato Church Altar Society and the New Haven Council of Catholic Women. Sister of Eleanor (Vincent) Mustaro, Madeline Raffone and the late Dominic Piombino. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 8:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Church, New Haven at 9:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
