Emily Manzo, age 95, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 10th in her home in North Haven after a brief illness.

Emily was born on October 30, 1925 in New Haven, CT.  She had a playful personality, instantly making friends with those she met.  Many knew her as Grandma Emmy and Queen Mother. She enjoyed playing and listening to piano music, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a very prayerful woman and a member of Good News Christian Church for 30 years.  She retired in 1989 after a successful career with the Southern New England Telephone Company and volunteered at St. Raphael’s Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her children Michael Torello, Jr., Nancy Robinson (Larry), Cathy Russell, and Linda DeAngelo (Joseph), 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, a son-in-law (Walter Russell), and a granddaughter (Kristen Torello Goen).

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18th at 10:00 AM at Good News Christian Church on 46 John St. Wallingford, CT with Pastors Joseph and Linda DeAngelo.  Private       interment to follow.
