Ernest George Goodwin of North Haven passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his home. Born in Victory, VT on December 28, 1936, he was the son of the late George Goodwin and Phebe Quimby Goodwin. Known as ‘Bill’ by most, he was the ultimate worker and was employed by the Mill Supply Division of Halsey Themper Co in Hamden for over 50 years until their closing.  He then worked at Window Products in Branford and continued to enact his passion for projects until the day of his death.

He was predeceased by his sisters Gloria (Glendon) Utley and Sylvia Goodwin.  He is survived by his sister Beverly Larocque and predeceased by her husband Leigh Larocque.  He had five children.  He is survived by his daughter Wendy (Nicholas) Brignola, his son Raul (Marcella) Goodwin and his daughter Melissa Goodwin.  He was predeceased by his daughter Norma Goodwin and his son Jay Goodwin.  He had 15 grandchildren: Nicole, Danielle, Nicholas, Michael, Alex, Payton, Medalia, Ariana, Tiana, Ashlee, Sean, Jynasis, Jonathan and Josephine.  He was predeceased by his grandson, Jay Jr. He is survived by his four great-grandchildren: Luna, Logan, Mackenzie and Maddison.  He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.  And who could forget his loyal canine companion, Kiba!

Family and friends may visit between 6:00pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday evening, July 27, 2022 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter/rescue or food pantry of your choice.
