Esaltina Dias Goncalves, 100, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Goncalves.  Esaltina was born in Pinho, Portugal on April 24, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Albino and Josefina da Gloria Dias.  Esaltina was devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family unconditionally.  Mother of Susana (Jeremias) Silva, Antonio (Alda) Goncalves, Manuel (Ana Maria) Goncalves, Domingos (Ermezinda) Goncalves, Joe (Cristina Brito)Goncalves and Diamantino (Cristina) Goncalves.  Grandmother of Arnaldo Silva, Alda Maria, Theresa, Luis (Serena), Susana (Bruno), Isabel, Jose (Nathalie), Jean Philippe (Eve), Luis, Victor (Kristen), David (Sarah), Jason (Kristina), Joseph and Catherine Goncalves.  Great-grandmother of Gabriella Silva, Eva and Lucas Durant, Daniel, Paul, Thomas, Gaspard, Jules, Cristiano, Olivia, Hudson and Mila Goncalves .  Sister of Beatriz and Marta Dias and the late Emilia Alves, Diamantino and Domingos Dias. 

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Friday morning at 11:30 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
