Esther T. Giordano Luzietti, 87, passed away Monday, July 17th, 2023 at her favorite place, “The Cottage” in East Haven with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudy Luzietti. Esther was born in New Haven on May 19th, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Antoinette Riolino Giordano. Esther graduated from the Elm City Beauty Academy and became a hairdresser and later worked in food services for ACES of Hamden and North Haven. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and was a member of “The Club Girls”. Esther’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Lynette Luzietti, Luke Luzietti (Jennifer), Alyssa Pethick (Dr. Mark) and the late Eugene “Gene” Luzietti (BettyJane). The best Gram to Zachary and Sophia Catandella, Benjamin and Samuel Pethick, Mia, Lina and Agostino “Gus” Luzietti. Sister of Jill Fiorentino, Anthony J. Giordano (Michelina), Ralph J. Giordano, Jr. (Geraldine) and the late Annette “Honey Girl” Pinto. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her special girlfriend, Filomena Mineri, who brought her so much laughter, joy and happiness.
The visiting hours will be Friday morning, July 21″ from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MGH-ALS Research Fund, 165 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA02114.
