Eugene “Gene” Avallone, 62, of East Haven passed away on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in New Haven on November 14, 1959, he was the son of Concetta Fernicola Avallone and the late John Avallone. A graduate of East Haven High School, Gene was a butcher by trade and was the owner/operator of Deltona Italian Deli in Florida. Gene loved working on his brother’s farm, enjoyed animals, hockey and was a New York Rangers fan. Brother of Joe (Natalina) Avallone, John Avallone, Jr. and the late Maria Sulpasso.
The visiting hours will be Monday morning, Nov. 7th from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum.
