Evelyn Votto DeCapua passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022. She was born the daughter of the late Vitangelo and Angelina (DeLeone) Votto on December 6, 1929. She attended school in New Haven and graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1947. She lived in East Haven, Hamden and Cheshire. Most recently, she was a resident of CT Baptist Home in Meriden. After successfully raising a family, she retired from Southern New England Telephone (SNET) as a Technical Assistant after 27 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In retirement she made multiple trips to Italy and enjoyed Broadway shows, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. She is survived by her 3 sons, Jerry M. DeCapua (Robin) of Los Angeles, CA, Edward DeCapua (Geraldine) of Hamden and Ronald DeCapua (Carol) of Stratford along with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Most notably, she is survived by her older brother Ernest Votto, formerly of East Haven. Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers Pasquale Votto, Albert Votto and more recently, by her sister Eleanor Raccio.
The visiting hours will be Monday, May 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
