Gladys (Oweant) Estelle Addison (Mayberry) 91 of Clinton, formally of Arlington, Va. died on May 26 surrounded by loving family members. She was the daughter of Charles (White Cloud) Dawson and Gladys (Wild Flower) (Smith) Dawson. Born on April 16, 1924, she was predeceased be her three younger siblings, Lavern (Owl Feather) Dawson, Charles (Crawling Wolf) Dawson and Shirley (Dawson) Haynes.

            She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School class of 1942, and Antioch College in Virginia, Class of 1976. In 1991, she retired from the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. after years of service to Native Americans in the Economic Development Association, Smithsonian Bi-Centennial, Coalition of Eastern Native Americans, Administration of Native Americans and American Indian Inter-Cultural Organization. 

            Her greatest accomplishment and joy of her life was her family. Gladys is survived by her two daughters; Asenith (Red Fawn) Mayberry of Hilo, Hawaii, Lovette (Fawn) Tower and husband James of Clinton, Conn. 3 grandchildren; Christian (Eagle Shield) Mayberry and wife Lori Knight, Wesley (Silver Leaf) Tower and wife Clare, Heather (Oweant) Emanuelson and husband Darrell and 6 great grandchildren, Charles, Graham, Tokori, Porter, Holly and Lucas (Eagle) and 3 step daughters; Beatrice (Floating Cloud) Prout, Emily (Sun Flower) Addison and Carol (Dancing Flower) Rayford.

A memorial ceremony will take place on August 12th, 2015 at the German Hill Cemetery in Shohola, Pennsylvania at 1:00 PM.
