Dr. Peter J. Schioppo, 86, of East Haven and Boca Raton, FL formerly of Woodbridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30th, 2014 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of 60 years to Mary Grace Charles Schioppo. Dr. Schioppo was born in New Haven on March 30, 1928; son of the late Domenic and Mary Grace Miserendino Schioppo; was a 1948 graduate of Hillhouse High School; 1948 graduate of Palmer School of Chiropractic; 1949 graduate of Lincoln School of Chiropractic and became a licensed Chiropractor in 1950 at which time he started his own business which he operated for sixty years.  Dr. Schioppo was a member of the Amity Club, the American and Connecticut Chiropractic Associations; a former member of the Racebrook Country Club and his true enjoyment was his grandchildren.  Father of Joy (Dr. Richard) D’Addio and Dr. Peter D. Schioppo.  Brother of Eleanor Lockery and Dr. Dominic (Corrine) Schioppo.  Grandfather of Peter D. Schioppo II, Jerome, Anne and Charles Schioppo.  Father-in-law of Elizabeth Schioppo.  Also survived by his uncle Ralph Miserendino, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by his brother-in-law Eugene Lockery.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Monday morning, June 2nd at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in the East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to theAmity Charitable Trust c/o the Schioppo Family Trust, P.O.
