Edward F. Miller, Sr., 85, of Wallingford, entered into rest on Saturday, August 15 after a long illness. He was born in New Haven on July 1, 1930 to Leslie and Mary (Cleary) Miller. He was married for 54 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Lenore (Rapuano) formerly of Westville. He was the father of Edward, Jr., (Paula), and devoted grandfather to Sarah and Abbey Mae. Ed grew up in Fair Haven with his siblings Mary Eileen (Mrs. Alan) Turner of Stonington, John (Mary) of Hamden and Thomas of Missoula, Montana. He was predeceased last year by his brother Charles (Marilyn). He also leaves behind in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, who also share in his loss. Ed attended St. Francis grammar school and graduated Hillhouse High School, after which he apprenticed in the electrical trade. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving two years abroad ship in the Mediterranean during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge he returned to New Haven and resumed his work as an electrician. He was a long time member of the I.B.E.W. Local 90. All who knew Ed also know he had a lifelong love of boating. From his youth to the time of his death he was never far from the water or without a boat for very long. The hobby brought him and his family great pleasure and countless friends over many years.

A memorial mass will be celebrated in his honor on Friday, August 21 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, in Wallingford. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
