Angelina Pastore DeMaio (94) of Middletown formerly of Third Street and Mather Street, Hamden passed away September 18, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edward A. DeMaio. Mrs. DeMaio was born in New Haven on January 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Michaelangelo and Catherine DeLeonardo Pastore. She had worked for Winchester Repeating Arms early in life and then later for the American National Bank. Angie was a caring and selfless woman whose amazing cooking skills served as a means for sharing her love. She would never allow anyone to leave her home or her presence without an offer of something to take with them. Mother of Robert M. (Janet) DeMaio and James M. (Deborah) DeMaio both of Wallingford and Edward J. (Ann Marie) DeMaio of Naples, Florida. Grandmother of Stephanie, Jessica, Brian, Jonathan DeMaio and Jennifer Scacciaferro. Great-grandmother of Hailey and Evan Scacciaferro. Predeceased by a brother Nicholas Pastore and sisters Concetta Rosa, Rose Foschini, Mary and Emily Pastore. The family would like to thank the staff of Water’s Edge in Middletown, where Angie resided for the last 5 years, for their excellent care, especially everyone on the 4th floor.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00. Interment will be private.
My condolences to the DeMaio's and Scacciaferro's. Angie was a wonderful woman and mother. I have only warm memories of her.
