Patricia A. Roche, formerly of East Haven, passed away at the Willows of Woodbridge. Wife of the late William J. Roche, Pat was born in New Haven on August 8, 1932 to the late Christine (Reilly) and Benjamin Gilhuly. A devoted mom, Pat never missed a softball game or drum corps show. A lifelong Mets fan, she also loved bowling and playing cards with family and friends. Her many jobs included driving a school bus for special needs children, working at Friendly’s and Stop and Shop.
Mother of Peter (Charles Maturo) Roche of Berlin, Christine (Robert) Davis of Durham, Mary Roche of Middletown, Geraldine (Pasquale) Carbone of East Haven, and Nora (Augustine) Dattilo of North Haven. She is survived by her sister, and best friend for life, Elizabeth Foley of Middletown, brother John Gilhuly of Wallingford, five grandchildren; Melissa Davis; William Carbone; Jessica Carbone; Megan Davis; Kathleen Pierini, and great grandchild Jaxxon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thank you to all those at the Willows of Woodbridge. They too have become a special part of Pat’s family.
Her funeral procession will leave North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Willows of Woodbridge, 225 Amity Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525 in memory of Pat.
Mom's are special people, although she is not here in life, she is in spirit, You all have a special angel looking over you now, as you did for her the last 14 years, Truly a testament to the the woman who raised all of you, she was strong, she was your friend, she was your MOM! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
