Vincent M. Cangiano, 89, of Ellicott City, MD, formerly of North Haven, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born on January 15, 1927 in New Haven; son of the late Louis and Josephine Frettoloso Cangiano. He was the beloved husband of Dolores DelPomo Cangiano, his wife of 67 years, who passed away in 2014.  He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Cangiano Wood of North Haven, Carole Cangiano and her husband Dave Ross of Ellicott City, MD and Cathy Carr and her husband John of Burtonsville, MD. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren, Joanna Cangiano Balz (Columbia, MD); Ali Cangiano Balz (Vienna, VA); John Carr (Burtonsville, MD); and Matthew Carr (Burtonsville, MD) and a great grandson and a great granddaughter. He is survived by his brother, Pat (Loreli) Cangiano of Chico, CA, sister Maggie Cangiano of Grove, OK and sister-in-law, Nancy (Lou, deceased) Cangiano, of San Juan Capistrano, CA and sister Flora (Lynn) Sherman of Vista, CA. His brothers Lou Cangiano and Richard Cangiano pre-deceased him. Vincent served his country faithfully in the US. Navy during WW II; graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1951. He later completed a fellowship in Transportation Studies in Highway Traffic at Yale University in 1956. Vincent was the President and CEO of the Maguire Group, a professional Engineering/Architectural/Planning firm, a position from which he retired. In addition, he served on the Planning and Zoning Commission in North Haven from 1963 to 1971 also serving as its chairman. He received numerous awards and recognition during his long, successful career. One such recognition from his alma mater, The University of Connecticut, brought him great pride because of his strong connection to the University. In 1990 he was named the Distinguished Engineering Alumni by the School of Engineering at the University of Connecticut. He and Dolores spent most of their lives in North Haven until 1998 when they moved to Woodstock, MD.  He was much beloved by his family, colleagues and many friends.

 His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning August 17th at 11:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Cabrini Church at 12:00 PM.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
