With sad hearts, Fiorina (Florence) Baldino, 93 of Hamden passed away with her family by her side.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Anthony Baldino and her parents Nunzio and Vincenza.  She was the youngest of 5 siblings with many nieces and nephews. She settled in New Haven from Naples, Italy in 1955.  She worked very hard to make a life for herself and started her family.  She worked as a sewing machine operator for many years at the National Filter in Hamden. The loves of her life were her four children.  She is predeceased by her beloved son and daughter, Carmine Baldino and Lucia (Lucy) Brown.  She is survived by her daughter Theresa Baselice and husband Mark Baselice, and her son John Baldino.  Fiorina suffered many heartaches in her long life, but she tried her best through it all.  She had amazing strength and determination.  Her true passions were cooking and baking for family and friends.  She took pride in gardening and loved her infamous vegetable garden and grape vine.  She was also known to love her long walks around town.Her greatest passion was celebrating Christmas Eve with family and loved to make fried dough and pizza for her 13 grandchildren. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren.  Her family will cherish those very special memories of “Nonnie.” 

The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, September 21st from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
