Francesco Capasso, 81, of North Haven passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria Crisci Capasso, married 56 years. Francesco was born on September 21, 1940 in Maddaloni Province of Caserta, Italy and the son of the late Vincenzo and MariaGrazia Valentino Capasso. Francesco grew up working the family farm in Italy. Years later, he traveled to Switzerland to master the masonry trade. In 1972, he emigrated to the United States, upon his arrival he was employed by FJ Dahill Company and later went on to become owner of Frank Capasso & Sons. He was a hardworking man and soon became respected in the community for his excellent workmanship of restoration. He loved his Italian heritage and was a member of the Italian American Club and Napoli Club. Francesco was the father of Vincenzo (Lucia) Capasso, Maria Capasso and Anthony Capasso. Also survived by his grandchildren: Francesco (Klaudia) Capasso, Maria (Dominic) Crescenzo, Caterina Capasso, Andrew Capasso, Anthony Capasso, Eryk Francesco Wenziak, Nicolas Capasso, sister Rose (Giuseppe) DeLucia and brother Giuseppe (Louisa) Capasso. The children wish to thank our beautiful mother who gave our dad the best care ever and nurses Kim, Flores and Stephanie of Beacon Hospice for the care and comfort provided to our dad.
The visiting hours will be Sunday, August 7th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning, August 8th at 11:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
