Francesco Rizzuto, 76, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, at Smilow/Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Francesco was born in Volturara Appula, Province of Foggia, Italy on November 5, 1946, and was the son of the late Pietro B. and Josephine DeSiato Rizzuto. He came to the United States in 1966 settling in West Haven. Francesco was a barber and was the owner/operator of the former Scorpio V Hair Stylist, Campbell Avenue, West Haven for many years until his recent retirement. He enjoyed taking frequent trips to the casino, playing cards with family and friends, playing and watching soccer and was a member of Club Napoli of Northford. Francesco believed in family values; he was proud of his Italian heritage but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren who he loved unconditionally. Father of Peter Rizzuto (Michelle). Brother of Joseph DeFrancesco (Maria). Loving Nonno to Peter John and Pia Maria. Uncle of Joann Allegra (Paul) and Joseph DeFrancesco (Donna). Great-Uncle to Jesse DeFrancesco (Catherine) and Kaila DeFrancesco (Julia). Loving companion of Lori Carlson. Also survived by Lori’s son Matt Carlson.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning, June 15th at 9:15 to St. Mary’s Church (St. John Bosco Parish), Branford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford
Our sincere condolences to the entire family. Frank was our next door neighbor for the past 21 years and always enjoy having conversation with him on our deck. Wonderful, humble, and a sincere gentleman. He will be sadly missed. 🙏
Peter I think that you know how close your dad, MY BROTHER, and I were very close.
I will keep for the rest of my life the memories that we had when we were in Italy and here in the USA.
He now joined our mother and our dad and now they will spent the eternal life together.

As I sat in his chair, we “attempted to solve the ills of the city and the country. We probably didn’t make much of a difference, but we felt good talking. We will miss him.
