With great sadness we announce that Francine Hope Lockyer of North Haven, passed away the afternoon of October 7, 2022 at 71 years old.
Francine was born on October 2nd, 1951 to Abraham and Shirley Solomon in Manhattan, NY. She lived there until age 9 and then moved to New Milford, CT. Francine was the wife of Clifford Lockyer. Francine is survived by her loving daughters Kelly Angiollo (Edward Angiollo) of East Haven; Tracie Barone (Dominic Barone) of Jericho, VT; her sister Miriam Solomon of Trumbull; her sister-in-law Janet Lockyer-Wills of Middlesex, VT; her sister-in-law Jeanne Caperton of Novato, CA; and grandchildren Carmine Angiollo, step grandchildren Ava Angiollo, Luca Angiollo, Julia Angiollo, Dominic Barone, and Audriana Barone. Francine went to New Milford High School, then went to Southern CT State University. She studied Special Education and taught in New Haven schools for 10 years. In her desire to spend more time with her girls, she transitioned to a food service worker in the North Haven school system. Francine enjoyed spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren. She loved her daily runs to Target and Dunkin Donuts for her Vanilla Chai. She liked to cook and enjoyed knitting scarves and blankets. She was extremely caring and often put others’ needs before her own. She had a strength that never wavered throughout the years. Francine’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Yale New Haven Smilow Cancer Hospital, particularly Dr. Scott N Gettinger and team who assisted with Francine’s treatment.
The visiting hours to celebrate her life will be Friday, Oct. 21st from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Melissa Marottoli Hogan Foundation, 6 Partridge Lane, Branford, CT 06405 for lung cancer research.https://mmhforacure.org/get-involved/donate-now/
Offering our deepest sympathy…Richard and Mary Ellen Kordorsky
We are delighted that we had the chance to meet Fran via our daughter Kristen’s friendship with Tracie. Fran was so proud of her children and grandchildren; just mentioning them brought a smile to her face. We send our deepest sympathy, our thoughts and our prayers to Cliff, Tracie, Kelly, Miriam and all the family.

Cliff, Kelly and Tracie – Tom and I send our sincerest condolences. Fran was a wonderful neighbor and co-worker at the NHMS. We had planned to attend the service today, but police were waiting in attendance for the return of Officer DeMonte and his family. May you celebrate Fran and how special she was.
