Frank L. Walters, 88, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16th, 2022, at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Gertrude DeGross Walter. Frank was born in New Haven on November 11, 1933 and was the son of the late Frank and Lena Hoffman Walter. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during the Korean war. Frank attended the former Southern Connecticut State Teachers College and later worked as a Draftsman for United Technologies for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and gardening. Father of Lynn Thompson (Peter). Grandfather of Andrew Thompson (fiancé Lauren) and William Thompson (Sarah). Brother of Barbara Welker Griggs (Thomas Griggs, Sr.) Brother-in-law of James Malerba and the late Dorothy Malerba. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Saturday morning, April 23rd at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Military honors will immediately be following the Mass in front of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation JDRF.org/donate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

I am so sorry to hear of this loss of my life-long neighbor and friend. Frank was a truly honorable and kind man. I will always remember him for his dignity, as well as his good humor. My parents always loved Frank. May God wrap His arms around him and bless his eternal soul.
