Frank T. Costanzo, 96, of Hamden, beloved husband of 74 years to Rose Quido Costanzo passed away peacefully at St. Raphael’s Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital on February 15, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in New Haven on December 13, 1925, son of the late Charles and Mary Giglio Costanzo. Frank graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1943. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Charles, Christopher and Thomas Costanzo all of Hamden and a daughter, Mary Costanzo Bernabucci of Northford and her husband Joseph. Frank is also survived by four grandchildren, Frank and his wife Nancy Costanzo, Anthony and his wife Kelliann Costanzo, Joey and Maria Bernabucci and five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Christian, Emily, Olivia and Sophia Costanzo. Brother-in-law of Josephine Consolatore and her husband Liberato. Predeceased by brothers Anthony and John Costanzo and three sisters, Helen Criscuolo, Ann Waselik and Lucy McDermott. Frank was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed many trips to the casino with his family. He was a devoted family man, truly loved by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by all and will remain in our hearts forever.
The visiting hours will be Friday, February 18th from 4 to 8 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Saturday morning February 19th at 11:30. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, at 12 noon. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.

Our VCH, Veterans Coffee House meets monthly at the Wlfd Senior Center which not only gives our Vets the chance to socialize but also take part in enjoying a guest speaker which are related to military topics, slide presentations and Q&A. At this very difficult time, our group would like to honor the loss of Frank Costanzo as a fallen brother. Our military Veterans send out their heartfelt condolences to the Costanzo family and friends. As an Army Veteran, he had joined an elite group of honorable men and our Country will forever be in his debt.
