Gaetano Tammaro, 73, of Orange passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in Civitella, Italy on February 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Gioacchino and Concetta Ciaburri Tammaro. Gaetano worked in Quality Assurance at Bayer Pharmaceuticals before retiring at age 56. Known as “The Pizza Guy”, his passions in life included making pizza at parties for family and friends both here and in Italy, driving his classic cars and boating. Father of George Tammaro (Jacqueline), Geoffrey Tammaro (Megan) and Kimberly Tammaro. Nonno of Gabriella, Gino, Finley, Beau and Cole Tammaro. Brother of Lucia Tammaro and the late Luciano Tammaro. He will always and forever be remembered as the uniquely legendary “Guy”.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at ipffoundation.org/donate

Poi quel venerdì sera mi ha fatto la video chiamata mi ha dato la brutta notizia, prima che te lo dicono gli altri te lo dico io, i dottori non possono fare più niente, mi è crollato il mondo addosso, lo penso sempre ogni volta che vado a Napoli c’è sempre lui la pizza la sfogliatella È una persona speciale ciao fratello.

Danny, my family and I share in your sadness and wish you peace and comfort to get through the dark and lonely days ahead. Guy made such an impact in all of our lives due to his kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness and sincerity. We know that his world and his most joy was being with his kids and grandchildren. To the Tammaro family and his friends. We want to send our deepest condolences over Guy’s death. Guy was a part of our family for many years and we loved him. Guy was a loving, kind, caring and generous person. He came to Colorado to visit us and we had a wonderful time together. He loved seeing the Colorado mountains which reminded him of the mountains in Italy. Guy always treated our family with love and kindness. He lived his Christian faith. He left us a wonderful memory of his life. He loved his children, grandchildren and his family. His greatest ambition was to go to heaven and experience God’s majesty. We will always remember and miss him. We love you, Nayda, Bob, Marissa, Sandra, Rosa, and Daniel.

Gaetano venne, insieme a zio, a prendermi a New York qualche anno fa. Poteva venire con una qualsiasi macchina e invece in limousine mi ha fatto viaggiare… Una persona, un personaggio pieno di risorse. Mancheranno le storie che raccontavi, di barche di viaggi e cose da fare. E quel sigaro da boss che tanto ti stava bene. Rest in peace dear Gaetano
