George J. Landino 93, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. He was the beloved husband to the late Helen Clemente Landino. George was born New Haven on November 9, 1923; son of the late James V. and Margaret Coppola Landino; served his country faithfully in the US. Army Air Corp as a Corporal during WW II taking care of the P-38 Airplanes. A Mechanical Draftsman, he taught drafting at Eli Whitney Technical High School, Hamden and Immaculate High School, Danbury and was also a Driving Instructor. George was an avid bowler; member of various health spas; was a real handyman, he could fix anything around the house, and he loved the outdoors. Father of Barbara (John) Burns and Susan E. Landino. Grandfather of Michelle (William) Millington and Jennifer (David) Parmelee. Great-Grandfather of Connor, Kayla, Jacob, Joshua and Lauren. Brother of Henry Landino and the late Lillian Standish and Mary Landino. Brother-in-law of Lorraine & Robert Traver.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonicare Charity Foundation, 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492.
