George (Jim) Axel Kilberg, 96, of North Haven passed away on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 at his home. He was survived by his wife Gloria Fiore Kilberg and son Eric Kilberg. George was born in New Haven on January 20, 1926 and was the son of the late Axel and Viola Betue Kilberg. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during WW II. After his service George was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement. He did a lot of flying in the Navy and enjoyed being near helicopters. George also enjoyed travelling, especially through the United States and driving cross country several times. Also survived by his nieces Deborah Pochy and Christine Fasciano. Predeceased by his sister Agnes Celso.
The visiting hours will on Saturday morning, April 23rd from 9:30 to 11:00 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven at 11:30 AM Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden.
