Germano “Jerry” Cattaruzza, 91, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was born in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania on March 12, 1926 and was the son of the late Flaminio and Elena Bombassei Cattaruzza. Jerry worked as an Engineer & Draftsman at Pratt & Whitney for 31 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1946. Jerry was a parishioner at Our Lady Peace Church, East Hartford where he was active with their meals on wheels, the soup kitchen and bingo. He also enjoyed going to the Bushnell Performing Arts Center. Brother of Athos Cattaruzza and York Cattaruzza. Uncle of Laurie (Jim) DeFrancesco, David (Janyce) Cattaruzza and Guy (Lisa) Cattaruzza. Also survived by three grand-nieces, five grand-nephews and his loving companion June Kozlowski. Predeceased by his sister-in-law’s Estelle and Lena Cattaruzza.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning, Sept. 13th at 11:00. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church, North Haven at 11:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
Gerry was a dear friend for many years when We both lived in CT. He was a very caring man, and was always willing to help when the need arose. A group of us shared many happy times together …wonderful memories! My sympathy to his family & loved ones…God Bless . Rest In Peace, Gerry.❤️🙏

I volunteered at the Bushnell with Jerry for many years. I shall miss him. I enjoyed working with him. Revelation 21:3,4 gives us a wonderful hope.
I met Gerry thru Our Lady of Peace Church, He was always pleasant to talk with and was involved in many activities. He will be missed.
