Giuseppe Diglio, 81, of Northford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 6th, 2021 at his home. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Amelia Dadio Diglio. He was born on January 6, 1940 in Santa Maria a Vico Caserta, Italy to the late Vincenza (Scarano) and Antonio Diglio. He was the oldest of 7 children: Josephine Palmeri (late Stefano), Carmela Nuzzo (late Pietro), Vincenza Calcagno (Vincenzo), Yolanda Perri (Santino), and Domenic Diglio. He is predeceased by his oldest sister Maria Mastroianni (late Marzio), brother-in-law Giuseppe Morgillo, and grandson Giuseppe Curcio. He graduated high school and became a member of the Italian State Police. After immigrating in 1963 to New Haven, CT his parents and siblings soon followed. He met his wife April 1, 1963 and they were married soon after on May 13, 1963. He had five children, Vivian Diglio-Caturano, Amelia Iuliano (Raffaele), Antoinette Curcio (Aniello), Anthony Diglio (Jill), and Joseph Diglio (Caterina). He started his business, Country Farm I, in 1973. He loved spending time with his 19 grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed working in the fields, and playing cards and bocce with his friends. He was a die-hard fan of the Napoli Soccer Team. He had a love for Italian music, especially seeing Andrea Bocelli, Al Bano, and Il Volo live in concert. He enjoyed frequent trips back to Italy to see his family and hometown. His life was full of family, flowers, fun, and hard work. His family would like to thank the first responders and the North Branford Police Department for their service in our time of need.
The visiting hours will be Thursday, Dec. 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
