Giuseppe “Joe” Montuori, 91, of East Haven passed away on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Antonietta Troiano Montuori for 66 years. Joe was born in Baila Como, Province of Caserta, Italy on January 2, 1931 and was the son of the late Pasquale and Clementina Cucari Montuori. A laborer all his life, Joe had worked for C.W. Blakeslee Construction Company for many years until his retirement and was a member of the Connecticut Laborers Union. Joe was a member of the East Haven Italian American Club, enjoyed playing bocci, had a love for music and enjoyed playing the accordion. Father of Clementina “Tina” Pascale (Anthony), Maria Sweeney (John) and Pasqualina”Patty” Montuori. Grandfather of Tony Pascale, Anne Pascale and Tom Adler. Brother of Bernadino and Domenico Montuori and the late Fiorentino and Raffaele Montuori, Celesta DelVecchio, Teresa Raucci and Michelina Venditti. Brother-in-law of Vittoria Montuori. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the USA and Italy. The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to the nurses and staff of the VNA of Guilford for the excellent care and comfort they provided to Joe.
The visiting hours will be Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:15 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. (At the family’s request, masks are required for all services).
