Gloria Elizabeth Scialla Cocchiaro, 89, of Hamden formerly of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Hamden Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Cocchiaro. Gloria was born in New Haven on August 28, 1927; daughter of the late Carmine and Marfizia Gaudio Scialla;  had worked for the former Edward Malley’s Department Store of New Haven and later for  Ann Taylor, and always had a love for music and dancing.  Mother of Debbie A. Morrone and her late husband Mark Marrone, and David Cocchiaro. Grandmother Tara, Michael (Stacy Overend) and James (Kristina) Warden. Step-Grandmother of Mark (Kelly) Morrone Jr. and Daniel Morrone (Ryan Zalaskas). Great-Grandmother of McKayla, Anthony and James Warden Jr. Step-Great Grandmother of Lucas and Dylan Morrone. Sister of Kenneth (Carole) Scialla and the late     Helen (Vincent) Fiasconaro and Eugene (Violet) Scialla.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Office of All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Wednesday morning, March 8th at 10:45 to follow the funeral procession to the graveside for an 11:00 committal service with the Rev. Timothy Meehan presiding and are cordially invited back to Debbie’s home immediately following to join her family for a gathering.  There will be no visiting hours.
