Gloria Jean Grisham Testa, 82, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Testa. Gloria was born in Manhattan, New York on December 5, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Bruce and Lillian Springle Grisham. In her earlier years, Gloria had worked as a Head Telemarketer for New England Construction and was the owner/operator of the former Bond Package Store, Hamden. An excellent cook and baker, Gloria was ready to prepare a meal for family and friends at any time, morning, noon or night, pasta and salad especially. Always liked to be known as the “Jersey Girl”, Gloria enjoyed her frequent trips to the Jersey Shore, but her greatest joy were her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. She also was a poetry writer, she loved making poems for her children and grandchildren, as well as anyone who crossed her path. She was known by most as “NONI”. Loving mother of Karleen Astorino (Anthony), John R. Testa and Marci S. Bracale (David Shea). Devoted grandmother of Anthony Astorino, Jr., Adrianna Bracale, Michael Astorino and Morgan Testa. Sister of Patricia Grisham and the late Bruce and Robert Grisham. The visiting hours will be Thursday, March 23rd from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929

I haven’t seen your mom in many years but we were very close in the early days. We were the two “foreigners “ me NY , Gloria NJ. She would put ketchup on everything, but on Aunt Fanny’s escarole and beans just made Auntie crazy. We had so many laughs. “Back to the yard “ was an on going joke. My love to you all.
