Grace Marie Mitchell, 90, of North Haven was born on April 14th, 1930, daughter of Andrew and Rosina Sirica Migliaro passed away at Whispering Pines Nursing Center on April 8th, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Julian Mitchell and her siblings Rose Cassella, Mary Grieco, Madelyn Christoforo, Genevieve Magel, Catherine Colaninno, and Antionette, Christie, Andrew and Antonio Migliaro who were an important part of her life. She was survived by her brother Anthony Migliaro. She leaves behind her loving nephew Ronald Cassella, wife Denise, and her devoted great nieces and nephew Heather, Rachael, and Mark. In addition, she leaves behind many other nieces and nephews including Rose Mitchell and Pamala Falcioni. Grace had a sister Rose and husband Julian that she enjoyed spending time with. Her and her husband were both very religious and eucharistic ministers. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with family in North Haven ever since we could remember and took care of her sister Antoinette for many years. Grace worked at the VA for 45 years as a Medical Technologist and has numerous degrees and awards that she received for her work. She was the life of the party at any concert where everyone watched her move. She later had the joy of living at The Village at Mariner’s Point where she enjoyed many years of fun and friendships. Grace was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed by us all.
The visiting hours will be Saturday, April 10th from 10 to 11:30am at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at Saint Barnabas Church at 12pm. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Ron, so sorry to hear about Gracie’s passing. I only wish that I was closer to that side of the family but through the ages I’ve heard many great stories about Grace and she stood out. No that she is at peace and our thoughts and prayers are with you

It is with great sadness that we came across this posting today. COVID caused many of us to lose contact with those we cared about. Grace was an amazing woman who was a phenomenal advocate for the young brilliant minds that trained in the Veterans’s Hospital in West Haven, CT. I remember helping prep the graduation galas for the graduating students and witnessing first hand how proud she was of each and every one of them as was my mother who assisted in their training within the Chemistry Lab. She was an exquisitely classy lady with a heart of gold who was loved immensely. You are in our prayers with hope the pain has subsided enough for you to enjoy the great memories I am sure you all have of her. She was amazing.
