Grace Tirozzi Swanchak, 81, a longtime resident of East Haven and Marco Island, Florida passed away peacefully on March 2, 2021 at the Naples Community Hospital, Naples, FL. Grace was born in New Haven on September 12, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore Tirozzi and Anna Curcio Tirozzi.  She earned her bachelor’s, master’s degree and her 6th year degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University and was a Professor of Special Education at SCSU for many years.  She also had worked as a counsellor for HART United, Inc. of Hamden, and was a part-time travel and real estate agent. Grace was an active member for many years at the Marco Lutheran Church, Marco Island, FL where she made many loving and caring friends whom she considered to be family.  Grace was an active volunteer for the CT Special Olympics, enjoyed the beach, swimming and fishing.  Sister-in-law of Frank W. Hubbell, Jr.  Aunt of Debra Seaquist and Frank W. Hubbell III.  Great-Aunt of Nicole Pavis (Jason) and Deanna Seaquist. Great-Great Aunt of Jason, Scott and Courtney Pavis, Davion Smith, Adalynn Lewis.  Predeceased by her sister Frances “Babe” Hubbell, a brother Nicholas Tirozzi, a great niece Kristen Seaquist and a great-nephew David Seaquist, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Wednesday, March 10th at 12 Noon to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. (Masks and social distancing always required for all services).  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marco Lutheran Church, 525 N.
