Helen A. Janeczek, 97, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in New Haven on January 4, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie Ptak Janeczek. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church in New Haven, CT. She was a member of The New Haven Women’s Club and Miller Seniors.   She was past president of the Junior Catholic Council and past president of Our Ladies League at Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Birthright and helped with tag sales at Clelian Center and Partnership.   She ran tag sales for many years at her home.vHer main interest in life was her family.   She also enjoyed reading, keeping fit, taking care of her yard, and enjoying life.   She traveled to England, Canada, Amish country, Cape Cod, California, Hawaii, Florida, and many times to the Bahamas to visit her nephew, Edward.  She was always on the move. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.   She was predeceased by brothers: Walter of West Haven, Anthony J., a sister, Marion J. Wilchinski, two nephews Edward and James Wilchinski.

The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, April 29th from 9:00 to 10:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven at 11:00.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
