Helen and Joe became friends these past few years as I had the honor to lead a team each year on Veteran’s Day to clean up their yard and rake their leaves…. The highlight each year was the moments at the end when we would gather the team inside their home to listen to Joe tell of his years serving in the Army……as we enjoyed cider and doughnuts. This year Helen was so upset that she had no refreshments for us…..even though she had just gotten home from the hospital…….this was her kind and generous spirit…..but I will not forget gathering our team around her couch and praying with her this year…..asking God’s Presence and Peace to keep her strong and bring total healing to her. Her homegoing on Christmas Morning will always be bittersweet for you…..but I know also the joy of knowing that every year when we celebrate our Savior’s birth…..you will be reminded that because of His Love and grace…Helen is eternally healed….and rejoicing in her Lord’s Presence……
Our deepest condolences from Hope Christian Church…….our prayers will be lifting you up these next weeks and months……
With great love and respect,
Pastor James and Sharon Detweiler

Aunt Helen was a wonderful Aunt and Godmother. She was a smart talented lady with many abilities but she always unselfishly put family first.
She always made me feel loved and valued and her passing leaves a great emptiness.
Joe and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, prayers and hugs to family. I have so many fond memories of Helen making Golumpki sandwiches for Pete and I for that long 5 hour ride to College UpState New York. She will be missed, but so many great memories
I just found out today that this sweet and dear woman passed away. I really loved her sweet and honest demeanor. We became friends many years ago, lost touch then when she joined Facebook she sent me a friend request. It has been an honor knowing her. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Sincerly,
Leese (DiGIovanni) Connery
