Howard L. Camp, 85, of Cheshire, formerly of Nortford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at MidState Medical Center, Meriden after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of sixty-one and a half years to Gladys Deninger Camp. Howard was born in New Haven, on October 03, 1936 and was the son of the late Howard W. and Hazel Meeker Camp. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy for three years. Howard had worked for Metro-North for many years retiring as a conductor. Father of Howard (Cindy) Camp and Paul (Denise) Camp. Grandfather of Jennifer (Kevin) Montagna. Great-grandfather of Eleanor Rose Montagna. Brother of Robert (Catherine) Camp, Hazel (Wayne) Anderson, William (Pauline) Camp and the late George Camp. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The visiting hours will be Sunday, January 9th from 2 to 5 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 4:30 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Howard’s life will take place at a future date.
