Howard L. Luppi, 92, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of the late Elsie Jean Blevins Luppi. Howard was born in West Haven on August 27, 1924; son of the late Neoclite and Mary Godino Luppi; served his country faithfully in the US Army during WW II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio, a Master’s degree from Quinnipiac University. Howard began his career at Seward & Monde accounting firm and later became the founder and managing partner of the CPA firm Luppi, Mahon, Simons & Schulz for 35 years until his retirement. He also served as Second Selectman for the Town of North Haven for many years; was State Representative for the 88th District; was a member of the American Legion, Murray/Reynolds Post #76 and the former North Haven Exchange Club. Father of David H. (Lara) Luppi, Mary-Jean Luppi and the late Howard L. Luppi, Jr. Grandfather of Robbie, Tyler and Julia Luppi, David Aimi, Steven (Janelle) Aimi, Thomas and Emily Jean Aimi. Great-Grandfather of Siena Aimi. Brother of Hobart Luppi and the late Abdon Luppi. Brother–in-law of Marshall Blevins and the late Laura Berube. Also survived by his beloved friend Claire Schulz and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Thursday at 12 Noon. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Howard was such a gentle icon. I remember spending Election Day with him and all of the Republicans at District 5 HQ at my home. It was always a treat to go and get the voting sheets with Howard. The Luppi 88 logo will always be in my personal memories. God Bless and Rest In Peace.

Mr luppi was the most caring and compassionate man and the best second selectman north haven ever had. He always had a smile on his face and was fun to be around. He also could talk to you like a father and my sympathies to Mary jean and the rest of your family. He will be missed and was a fixture around town and leaves a void that Cannot be filled. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Luppi. He was my first ever boss and mentor when I was 16. He gave me my first job as receptionist at the Broadway Professional Bldg. where his firm was located and I learned very much from that job. I have been working non stop ever since til my retirement last year. Mr Luppi was the most patient, happy, professional person I had ever met and always had a kind word for me through the years if ever we met. I will miss him dearly.
