Italo “Leo” Ciocca, 82, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Lucia Delmonaco Ciocca. Leo was born in Ripi, Province of Frosinone, Italy on May 8, 1941, and was the son of the late Pietro and Santina Fiorello Ciocca. He started his career in food service with Italian Importing and later was involved with many different restaurants, delis, and pizzerias until opening up his wholesale food distribution center L.C. Fine Foods. Leo enjoyed making wine, playing cards and bocce, but most of all being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved unconditionally. Father of Peter Ciocca (Rina), Carlo Ciocca (Gina), Daniel Ciocca (Terri) and the late Lisa DelPrete. Grandfather of Kristina Goncalves (Jason), Bianca Lazzara (Jeff), P.J., Jake, Christopher, Daniel, Olivia, Emily and Andrew Ciocca. Great-Grandfather of Sienna, Nico, Mila and Giada. Brother of Giovanni Ciocca (Angelina), Raffaele Ciocca and the late Marietta Giancarli. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Thursday morning, July 20th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in the All Saints Mausoleum
