A.J. (Angelo) Golino, 89, of North Haven and Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May12, 2018 with his wife and son by his side. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Eleanor DelMonaco Golino. A.J. was born in Meriden on February 1, 1929 and was the son of the late Angelo and Angelina Fileto Golino. He grew up in the flats of Woodbridge until moving to North Haven in 1952. A.J. was a graduate of Commercial High School and Stones Business School He had worked for the US Postal Service, North Haven office for many years until his retirement. A.J. was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Donaher Council #3733 and was past president and treasurer the North Haven Stamp Club. A.J. was an avid golfer having made five hole-in-ones; he loved life and always had a joke to tell anyone he met. Father of John P. Golino. Grandfather of John Golino, Jr. and Paul Golino. Great -Grandfather of Andrew, Annika, Aiden, Gabriella and Nathan. Brother of Anna Jacquelin, Phyllis DeFelice and the late Vito, Frank & Philip Golino, Mary Ciarelli and Carmel Dighello. Also survived by a step great-granddaughter Alexis.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Thursday morning at 11:30 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private and there will be no visiting hours.

Pops, thank you for putting up with all my stupid crap while I was growing up and for your understanding. You taught me so much in life & about life in general. Your were the best dad and my mentor. You will always remain in my heart! Love you, Pop!
Dear Eleanor and John, I’m very sorry to hear about Angelo’s passing. I remember all the years you were our next door neighbors. Even when you don’t see each other for years, a lifetime bond is created. Ang was always a fun man with jokes and laughter. May he Rest In Peace and may you keep the happy memories in your hearts.
The Golinos were are next door neighbors as I was growing up. Wonderful people. I will always remember Angelo with a smile on my face. He was a good man
