Sorry for your loss
Our condolences
God bless your family
I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. Jim was my instructor at the academy. We had a lot of fun and I learn a great deal from him. He always had a smile and greeted you with a sincere handshake. I will miss him. I shall always remember him in my prayers.
Many fond memories of Jimmie as a friend in our youth – I shed a tear this morning – With affection, Mike Roper
To James’s son Jim: I saw the notice of your father’s passing in the Notre Dame alumni notes. May his memory be a blessing to you and your family. –Fred Teti (an ND ’82 classmate)
My thoughts are with the Stackpole family. I was saddened to learn of the passing of one of my CSP instructors. Jim and I stayed in touch over the years and I was pleased to call him my friend. My best, Major Peter Warren CSP (Ret.)
Remembering your smile Jim, you always seemed like you were happy with the world. I will remember the nick-name you gave me, “Cookie” like in Graham Cracker! My heartfelt condolences to your family. Rest in peace brother.
I just learned of Jim’s passing and want to extend my condolences to Diane, Kim and the entire family.
I worked with Jim when he was an Inspector in the New Haven State’s Attorneys Office, and was a friend of his in West haven. Jim was always very humble about his golf game, but he was an excellent player and a fierce competitor. I’ll always remember his hearty laugh!
Best
Dan Lyons
So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I just read about it from the bulletin of Our Lady of Victory Church, don’t know how I missed it in the paper. So sorry for your loss Vicki and as you know we grew up as neighbors on Ivy and Sumac Street. Jim was a great person and I am sorry for all your family. Alice Faughnan Montz

Our military Veterans send out their heartfelt condolences to the Stackpole family and friends. As an US Marine and Air Force Veteran, he had joined an elite group of honorable men and our Country will forever be in his debt.
Jimmie was an active member of CSEA when he was an Inspector. CSEA was the union that represented the Inspectors first in the Judicial Branch and then the Division of Criminal Justice. He served for many years on the Union’s Executive Council. His wise counsel was always accepted and appreciated by other members of the Union. Every time I talked to him he made me laugh. My condolences and the condolences of the Union go out to his family.
Robert Rinker, CSEA Executive Director Emeritus
