James J. Naughton Jr of Meredith, NH, formerly of Wallingford, CT died on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. Jim was born and raised in New Haven, CT. He was the son of James J. Naughton, Sr. and Margaret Naughton Jones.Jim served in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserve Station at Fort Hale Park. He was a retired employee of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Con-Rail Corporation and Amtrak Railroad Corporation for 40 years. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Meredith, NH and he was a member of St Barnabas Catholic Church in North Haven, CT. He was a member of The Masonic Olive Branch Lodge in Holderness, NH.Jim was known for his love and pride of family. He is survived by his wife, June, of 64 years, two loving daughters, Wendy Rapuano and Jaimie Walton of Meredith, NH and his son Wayne Naughton (Linda) of Marlborough, CT, his brother-in-law William K. King (Virginia) of Hamden, CT and he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Paul King (Magdaline) of West Haven, CT. Jim leaves three grandchildren, Alana Davenport and Shannon Jones of Nebraska and Wayne James Naughton of CT. and six great grandchildren, Alexis, Robert Jr., Aidan and Caroline Davenport and Nicholas and Tristan Jones of Nebraska. He also leaves a step grandson Gabriel Maccio (Tabitha) and his step great granddaughter, Jenna Maccio of CT.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm
So sorry for your loss. Jimmy was one of ‘larger then life’ characters that made working for the railroad so much fun. Jimmy always chomping on his fat cigar.
