Jennie T. DePino Costanzo, 102, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her home.  She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony C. Costanzo.  Jennie was born in New Haven on January 29, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Martha Proto DePino.  She earned her bachelor and master’s degrees from the former Southern CT State Teacher’s College.  Jennie was a teacher in the New Haven Public School system, teaching at Nathan Hale School for over 20 years.  She was a member of the North Haven Art Guild for over 40 years where she won numerous awards, and was a devoted parishioner and former C.C.D. teacher at St. Barnabas Church.  Jennie enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, as well as cooking and baking for her family who she loved unconditionally. Mother of Anthony F. Costanzo, Robert F. Costanzo, Mary Ann Valentino (Anthony) and the late Charles P. Costanzo. Mother-in-law of Anita Costanzo and Donna Costanzo.  Grandmother of Jennifer Olsen, Charles Costanzo, Jr., Amanda Valentino and Anthony Valentino, III. Great-Grandmother of Erik, Marie, Emilio, and Anthony.  Great-Great Grandmother of Naomi.  Also survived by her brother-in-law, Frank Costanzo and his wife, Rosemary, and many loving nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her siblings Anna Apuzzo, Josephine Gambardella, Andrew DePino and Mary DeMaio.  The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to Jennie’s caregivers Anahit Simonyan and Gayane Vasquez.

The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, July 8th from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church at 12 Noon.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473 or Vitas Hospice Healthcare, 199 Park Road Ext., Middlebury, CT 06762.
