Jeremiah Charles Coady, Sr., 82, of West Haven, passed away peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital/ St. Raphael’s Campus Monday, January 1, 2018 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mildred Krebs Coady for 62 years.  Jeremiah was born in Hamden on January 30, 1935 and was the son of the late Thomas and Hannora Geelan Coady. He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  Jeremiah had worked for the former Drazen Lumber Company of North Haven, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft formerly of North Haven, the former Premier Fabrics of New Haven and later for Sargent & Company, Long Wharf, New Haven.  He loved fishing, was a sports enthusiast especially the Boston Celtics, Red Sox and New York Giants.  Jeremiah was dedicated to his family whom he loved unconditionally.  Father of Deborah Scialabba (John Dowling), Diane Clifford (Brian), David Coady (Tanya) and the late Robert and Jeremiah Coady, Jr. Father-in-law of Marie Coady.  Grandfather of Nichele Shanahan (Michael), Richard Scialabba, Jr. (Leah), Robert Cosenza (Rebecca Donahue), Derek Coady and the late Kevin Clifford.  Great grandfather of Michael and Riley Shanahan, Barrett Scialabba.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Predeceased by his siblings Catherine Blair, Thomas Coady, Norma Provitz, Mildred Petrillo, Mary and James Coady, Barbara Doyle

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00.   Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
