Joan A. Brennan, 76, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018. She was the wife of the late Vincent E. Brennan. Joan was born in New Haven on February 20, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Frank & Stella Deptula Rubino. Joan graduated from Wilber Cross High School in 1960, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and had a lifelong passion for creating art. Mother of Vincent A. Brennan, Steven (Elizabeth) Brennan, Theresa A. Brennan and the late James Brennan. Mother-in-law of Christine (Durso)Brennan. Sister of Felix, Walter, Robert, Debra & Donna Rubino and the late Frank, Nicholas & Paul Rubino. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and friends at Arden House for the special love and attention given to Joan.
Services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Wednesday evening at 7:30. Visiting hours will be from 5:00 until time of service. Family & friends will meet directly at the office of All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue on Thursday afternoon at 12:45 and may follow the funeral procession to the graveside for a 1:00 committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, Connecticut 06405.
