Joan Larkin Pierson, 84, of North Haven. Wife of 55 years to the late Kenneth C. Pierson who passed in 2014. Joan passed away on April 11, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family and her beloved dog “Tucker” who was always at her side. Born on September 18, 1936 to John and Marion Larkin. Loving mother of Kenneth J. Pierson of North Haven Michael W. Pierson of Hamden. Twin sister Joyce (George) Palmer of Hamden. Grandmother of Heather (Matt) Marcin, Holly Pierson, and Kelly Pierson. Great-grandmother of Austin, Mallory, and Bianca, Gavin, and Evan. Joan graduated from Hillhouse High School and Bay Path College. She was employed by the New York, New Haven, Hartford Railroad as a comptometer operator, was a member of the Ridge Top Swimming and Tennis Club for 42 years. She loved vacationing with her family and friends in Vermont and Maine. Joan had many fond memories of spending summers at West Lake in Guilford, CT.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday morning, April 20th at 11:00 and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Animal Haven Inc., 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.
I will miss my beloved friend Joan we were friends for 79 years. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I will cherish my precious memories of our times together. She will forever be in thoughts and prayers. Much love Edie
