John J. Mikos, Jr., 61, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30th, 2021, at Yale-New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus.  Born in New Haven on June 2, 1959, he was the son of Rosalie Dusa Mikos and the late John J. Mikos, Sr.  John was a graduate of East Haven High School and had worked for Branford Steel, Barker Steel, Master Bait & Tackle and KX Industries.  An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.  He enjoyed cooking, baking (bread was his specialty) and always enjoyed sharing with family and friends.  Despite Johns many illnesses throughout his life, he never complained, was always happy, put others before himself, always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends, especially the care he lovingly devoted to his mother.  Brother of Joseph and David Mikos.  Brother-in-law of Susan, Donna and Debra Mikos. Uncle to his “Little Ditto” Crystal Mikos and great uncle to Anthony McClimon who he shared a special bond.  Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.

The visiting hours will be Friday, June 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry Street, New Haven on Saturday morning, June 5th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
