John “Jack” Stempick, Jr.,92, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Yale -New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Rachel “Raye” Maiolo Stempick.  Jack was born in East Haven on December 2nd, 1931 and was the son of the late John J. and Mae Norwood Stempick, Sr. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was proud to have been assigned to the USS Missouri (BB63). Jack was a printer for many years.  He was a member of the M&M Experience, having played the accordion, was a past president among other Chairs of the Missouri Associates, past commander of the American Legion Post 88 in Hamden, past chaplain of the New Haven Elks Club and a member of the Korean War Vets. Jack loved all sports teams depending on “who was winning” at the time. Each one of his children was loved and cherished. Beloved father of Kathleen Lawton, Dominick Artusa, Dawn Steller, Dean Artusa and the late John J. Stempick III. Brother of Nancy Pettinicchi and the late Joan-Mary Strianese. Also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The visiting hours will be on Tuesday morning, March 19th, from 9:30 to 11:30 in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 12:00 Noon. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
