John L. Ciampini, Sr., 84, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Dolores C. Savarese Ciampini. John was born in New Haven on April 13, 1938 and was the son of the late Chester and Frances Curcio Ciampini. John was a carpenter all his life and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local #24. He raised and trained homing pigeons since age 12 and was a member of the New Haven Pigeon Racing Association. Father of John L. Ciampini, Jr. and Nicholas Ciampini. Brother of Maryjane Suchecki, Chester Ciampini, Jr., Louis Ciampini and the late Joseph Ciampini. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday morning, Nov. 23rd from 9:15 to 10:15 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
