Joseph A. DellaCamera, 86, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday June 8, 2017 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale New Haven with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Ruth M. DeGennaro DellaCamera. Joseph was born in New Haven on November 5, 1930; son of the late Angelo and Christina DeMaio DellaCamera; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean war; had worked as an Electrician for I.B.E.W. Local #90 for many years until his retirement; former member of the Wallingford Elks Club; an avid New York Yankee fan and loved working in his apple orchid and Christmas tree farm. Father of Linda DellaCamera and Joann DiSpazio. Grandfather of Paul F. and Alyssa G. DiSpazio. Brother of Florence (Frank) Guglietti, Judy Buonocore, Fred (Phyllis) DellaCamera, Angelo DellaCamera and the late Michael, Benjamin, Albert, George and James DellaCamera, Joan Cirrincione and Mary Vacca. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Branford Hills for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
