Joseph A. Bodie, 69, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25th, 2023, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Karen Toronto Bodie. Joseph was born in New Haven on August 7, 1953 and was the son of the late Raymond P. and Lucy K. Voigt Bodie. He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force. Joseph worked in food service management for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed frequent trips to the casino, dancing, loved taking cruises, and home demolition. Father of William C. Wilson (Cindy), Louis J. Wilson (Lori) and Katherine Wilson (Robert). Grandfather of Katelyn Wilson, Stephanie Petro (Joshua), Emily Cottrell (Kevin) and Jenna Petro. Great-Grandfather of Leia and Eliana Rivera. Brother of Jo-Ann Quinn (Thomas), Katherine Herpok (John), Kevin Bodie (Valerie) and the late Raymond, Marie, William and John Bodie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, June 29th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A parlor service will follow at 12:00 PM with full military honors. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family
Papa god has taken you home to be with the rest of your family who has past before you. I know they will be happy to see you. Though you will be missed in this life it was time for you to rest. Make no mistake we will meet again until that day I will never forget you and all the things you did for our family. Your loving Son Billy.
