Joseph C. Torello, Jr., 83, of East Haven, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the West Haven VA Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved fiancée and soulmate of Rose Ann Infante. Joseph was born in New Haven on April 12, 1934 and was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Christine D’Amato Torello. Joseph served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. He also had his own music studio for 25 years where he enjoyed teaching many students to play the guitar. He was an avid NY Yankees fan for his whole life. He also enjoyed watching the UCONN Women’s Basketball Team. He is survived by his brother Pasquale (Marie) Torello and his sisters Marie (Andrew) Milano and Patricia (Andrew) DeCusati. He was predeceased by his brothers Giovanni, Edward, Andrew and his sisters Rena Torello and Carmel Aiello. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who brightened his life. Joseph will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the doctors, nurses and staff at the West Haven VA Hospital.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm.
