Joseph DiGirolamo, Jr., 66, of Branford passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his home. Born in New Haven on March 28, 1952, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rosina “Rose” Grignano DiGirolamo, Sr. His enjoyment was his frequent trips to the Chowder Pot. Father of Joseph DiGirolamo III, Anthony DiGirolamo (Sherry), Deborah DiGirolamo, Annette Colacino (Eric), Susan Serrantino (Manny), Bernadette Bush (Chad), Jennifer Stettinger (Thomas) and the late Joanne DiGirolamo. Brother of Barbara Dinan (Jack), Maria Massiello (Vincent) and Bernadine Morin. Also survived by 22 grandchildren.
The visiting hours will be on Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Pio of Pietrelcina at Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

So VERY SORRY to hear of the passing of your dear dad/papa. I know how much he meant to all of you. You brought your dad much happiness being part of your wedding and he passed on from this life knowing that he left you in Good hands with Manny. Sue,the thought that you lost both of your parents so young just breaks my heart, but you know i will always be a second Mom to you! All of you are in our hearts, thoughts and in our prayers. My heart is with everyone during this terrible time. He was such an amazing man with a great sense of humor. It was a blessing to have in my life for my whole life. I can’t believe you’re gone. You are such a big part of our lives. As the neighbor’s say….you have a big presence. A day won’t go by that I don’t think about you. To all of his children and grandchildren…he loved you. He was such a family man. He was excited as each new grandchild was conceived and born. My heart goes out to all of you. Keep talking about the good times. There are a lot of funny stories. Joe lived life his way. Annette he would’ve been lost in life without you. May God keep him forever alive in our hearts. I will see you again.

I am so sorry to all of Joes family for your loss. My husband and I have been friends with Joe for over 25 years. I was saddened to hear of his passing. I will hold dearly in my heart all the laughter and fun times with him. Joe was a one of a kind person and lived life and his life and thats what I admired about him. Tell you like it was too straight forward hold no punches type of guy. Good friend I will sadly miss him and his visits coming by my house honking the horn like crazy yelling ROCKY ROBYN loud as can be. May he rest in peace and his family are in our prayers and thoughts.
